Meet our Staff
David Ha rtman
In 1987 I had the opportunity to work part time in a locally owned chain of jewelry stores. I fell in love with Jewelry and the opportunity to help people celebrate special moments in their lives. I currently own and operate Hartman Jewelers in Warrenton VA. I established Hartman Jewelers here in Warrenton in 1994. We have moved several times over the years but we have always stayed on Main Street. Our current location is in an old five and dime that was built in the 1950's. It's beautiful, functional and comfortable all at the same time. I am a goldsmith and jewelry designer. Most of my time is devoted to helping my guests choose a diamond and creating jewelry designs for them.
Dorothy Drayer
I married my husband in 1979 and left my home state of Maryland to move to Virginia. We had two wonderful boys. In l989 we moved them to Warrenton. Since that time I have been a preschool teacher, had my own decorating business and was the classic soccer mom. After my second son graduated from JMU I took a couple of years off. When it become clear that my jewelry habit could not survive on a teacher's salary, my husband suggested I go to work in a jewelry store. I proclaimed that I would only work for my favorite store Hartmans. When the help wanted ad came out the next week, I knew it was meant to be. I became part of the Hartman Family in April 2007.
I would have to say that the biggest surprise for me was finding out how much there is to know about the industry. Each day I learn something new. It has truly been my pleasure to serve the people of this area and help to make their dreams come true.
Michele Cross
Michele Cross came to us in August 2005 as a full-time sales associate. In 2007 she shifted to take charge of our financial operations. In addition to making payments to keep our business running, our vendors satisfied, and our employees paid, Michele also inputs our entire inventory into our point-of-sale software so that your transactions in the front of the house go smoothly.
Sarah Conrad
I am an alumni of Highland School, Warrenton VA. Class of 2001. I grew up living between my birth state of Massachusetts, and my home here in Virginia. In 2003, I moved back to Massachusetts. I stumbled upon the opportunity to work as a full time sales associate for one of the largest and oldest jewelry retail chain stores in America. Six months after beginning my career, I was promoted to Store Manager. Shortly after I sought out an independent jewelry retailer with four locations and, more importantly, a product quality like none I had experienced before. I then began taking courses through the GIA (Gemological Institute of America) to further my product knowledge. Through these courses, I gained additional confidence on the sales floor, and in 2004 became the youngest member of the loose diamond sales team. In late 2005, I moved back to Virginia and was warmly welcomed to the Hartman Jewelers family. As time has flown by I continue to enjoy selling jewelry because jewelry is not just a material possession. Jewelry gifts are often someones fondest memories of gifts given, or received. Every piece of jewelry has its story; and it's my pleasure to be a part of these incredibly special moments.
